The Old Jameson Distillery (Weekend 1, Part 2)

The next thing James wanted to do was go to the Jameson Distillery. We had been advised that this tour was better than the one at the Guinness Storehouse because this one was really a museum and not just an impressive way to sell us beer. I really enjoyed the Guinness tour, so I figured I would like this one too! We got off our tour bus right by the Distillery and got our tickets. It was pretty packed, so our tour wasn't for almost an hour. So, of course, we decided to buy some really overpriced food - our favorite pass-time in Dublin so far.

Our tour started with an awkward intro video, taking us back to Old Dublin (which apparently was made completely out of bad CGI). But after that, the tour was a lot of fun. We got to learn about how whiskey is made, and why Jameson is so much better than that disgusting American whiskey. Whatever. When the tour guide asked for volunteer whiskey taste-testers, I raised my hand against my better judgment. As many of my friends know, I don't drink very much and whiskey is not really my drink. But I figured this was the premier whiskey (or at least that's what this impartial tour guide kept telling me), so I decided to give it a try.

Let's just say that I have come to the realization that whiskey is not really my drink.

Classy drinks deserve classy chandeliers.

Oops, never mind.

The flash makes this room look deceptively not-creepy.
Imagine this scene, but almost pitch-black.

A whiskey machine (?).

No wait, this is the whiskey machine.

Legend has it, nobody knows how many washbacks there are...
